SOCIAL Security System (SSS) President and CEO, Michael Regino, announced that retirees borrowing for the first time through the SSS Pension Loan Program (PLP) can submit their applications online at the My.SSS portal.

Previously, new pension loan borrowers had to visit the nearest SSS branch to file their initial applications, as online filing is only available for renewal loan applications.

“We recognize the challenges faced by our retired retirees in traveling to the SSS branch to avail of the pension loan scheme. With the pandemic still present, retirees prefer to have their transactions done online in their respective homes. This online facility makes it easier for people to avail the said program as it also ensures a faster approval process,” Regino said.

The Head of SSS urges retirees to take advantage of this low interest loan offer from SSS. He assures that SSS will not force them to pawn their ATM cards, unlike some private lending institutions.

Meanwhile, SSS and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) awarded a brand new motorcycle to the winner of RCBC’s Handog na Motorsiklo Ngayong Pasko promotion held at 2/F, Ramon Magsaysay Hall, SSS Building, East Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.

As part of the promotion, SSS members who registered their DiskarTech accounts on the Disbursement Account Registration module and received their loans and benefits from SSS were automatically granted entry into the sweepstakes. The promotional period ran from November 10 to December 10, 2021.

DiskarTech is a mobile application launched by RCBC in July 2020 primarily to provide an online facility in which SSS members can obtain their benefits and loan proceeds. It requires no initial deposit, balance maintenance and dormancy fees.
