A 50 percent reduction in loan application fees related to climate change and women’s empowerment is planned for the sugarcane community.

This is one of the initiatives taken by the Sugar Cane Growers Fund to improve its services.

Fund CEO Raj Sharma made the comment following the organization’s victory at the President’s Fiji Business Excellence Awards.

The fund won the Business Excellence Award.

He said winning the annual National Training and Productivity Center awards event at the National University of Fiji was just the start.

The fund was one of five recipients of the Achievement in Business Excellence award.

The 22nd awards show, held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, was the fund’s first time participating in the annual event.

He dedicated the victory to the sugar cane producers.

“We have launched many initiatives,” said Mr Sharma.

The fund will also introduce an online banking app, he said.

Meanwhile, the other winners of the Achievement in Business Excellence category were:
– Manubhai Industries Pte Ltd.

– Ajax Spurway Fasteners Pte Ltd.

– RC Manubhai and Company Pte Ltd.

In the Commitment to Business Excellence category, CRP Industries Pte Ltd and Roofing and Profiled (Fiji) Pte Ltd were the winners of the announcements.

In another development, the Minister of Infrastructure, Meteorological Services, Land and Mineral Resources, Jone usamate, received the Asia Productivity Organization award for its exceptional recognition.

He said the award was for productivity and an annual award system which was the best tool an organization could have to improve its systematic operations.
