YSR zero interest loan amount for crops credited to AP farmers’ accounts

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday credited Rs 128.47 crore directly to the accounts of 6,27,906 farmers under the “YSR zero interest loan program” for the 2019-2020 Rabi season, for the benefit of those who received loans up to Rs. lakh and repaid them on time.

Speaking to beneficiaries and officials via video conference, the chief minister said 60 percent of the world’s population depends on agriculture and that promoting agriculture will create jobs for 62 percent of the population of the world. ‘State. He said the state government’s goal is to prioritize the welfare of farmers, farm labor, and even clear outstanding arrears left by the previous government.

Since the government took office in June 2019, a total of Rs 1,132 crore has been paid out to Rs 61,22,585 under the zero-interest subsidy program. He urged farmers to register with the e-crop database to receive an interest subsidy from June 2021.

The chief minister said the government has provided farmers with free electricity for nine hours during the day, benefiting over 18.78 lakh farmers by spending Rs 8,800 crore per year. Thanks to this program, each farmer will save a minimum of Rs 46,000 each year. The state government has completed capacity building of feeders to provide free electricity to farmers at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore.

Reiterating that the welfare of farmers is the top priority of the state government, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said almost all promises made to the Farmer Brotherhood have been kept during the 22 months of governance. starting with YSR Rythu Bharosa, Navaratnalu’s first pledge, benefiting farmers of 51.59 lakh for an expenditure of Rs 13,101 Crore. The government has established over 10,641 Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) to benefit farmers in many ways, supporting farmers from seed to marketing.

On top of that, the government provides an input subsidy to farmers to cover losses in the same harvest season and has credited Rs 1,055 Crore. Regarding crop insurance, the government has taken responsibility for paying the insurance premium, providing insurance to farmers in a timely manner. In addition, the state government had established a market intervention fund of Rs 3,000 crore offering a minimum support price for crops to help farmers.

Minister K Kannababu, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Poonam Malakondaiah, Vice President of AP Agri Mission, MVS Nagi Reddy, Agriculture and Marketing officials were among those present at the event.
