ANZ Fiji Country Head Saud Minam has made it clear that nothing is free and that the loan amount must be paid back in full at some point by their clients who will sign a six month package for repayment of principal and interest.
Minam says ANZ clients who have taken out loans and are affected by COVID-19 with job loss or reduced working hours and want to know what interest rate they will pay after the six-month vacation period should call them or email them.
He confirms that ANZ receives hundreds of requests every day and now has between 500 and 700 requests being processed.
Minam says everyone who will be eligible for the relief package will be properly informed before signing the package.
Minam says they will decide on relief packages for their clients on a case-by-case basis.
When asked why his affected clients were being asked to bring a number of documents and fill out forms with information that had already been provided to ANZ when the loan was approved, Minam said they had certain requirements to be fulfilled.
